A digital twin sounds like tomorrow's technology. Yet people dreamed of “continuing themselves” long before us: in myths, legends and tales. Here is one of them.
Myths, legends, reality
Since school days we have all heard myths and theories about ancient states and civilizations that vanished from the face of the Earth.
There are myths about a “flooded civilization in Antarctica” and about a highly advanced “antediluvian” civilization that surpassed even the Maya in its discoveries but perished when the “great flood” came.
There are legends of Atlantis, the image described by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato in the 4th century BC: a mighty island power that perished within a single day through earthquakes and flood.
And there is a real ancient civilization that is no invention: the Maya.
The Maya are a group of peoples who spoke, and still speak, Mayan languages. They lived in Mesoamerica: the Yucatan peninsula, modern Guatemala, Belize, parts of Mexico (Chiapas, Tabasco), Honduras and El Salvador.
The Maya were the only civilization of pre-Columbian America to create a full writing system. They were also brilliant astronomers and mathematicians. They used a positional number system with zero, kept extremely precise calendar calculations, and predicted eclipses and the movements of Venus. Their calendar combines several cycles: the sacred 260-day tzolk'in, the solar 365-day haab, and the Long Count for great spans of time.
The Maya civilization is neither myth nor tale: about 6-7 million Maya exist today. They live in the same regions, speak dozens of Mayan languages (Yucatec, K'iche', Tzotzil and others), and many keep elements of their traditional culture.
There are modern tales too. One of them says that in the distant past there existed a civilization which, in its development, intellect and discoveries, was far ahead of the Maya and even of our contemporaries; that what humanity has reached today was for that civilization a mere amateur stage, and it went much further, making discoveries we have not reached even now.
The tale says that this ancient civilization had not only the internet but also technology for “digitizing” physical bodies. When it faced destruction, whether by flood or by earthquake, those ancient people calculated it in advance and concluded: if they could not survive in physical life, they would simply change its form and move into the digital. They built a new, digital world, digitized themselves and left for it forever. According to the legend, their descendants live in that digital world to this day. Some followers of the legend are convinced that artificial intelligence is the very intellect of that ancient civilization living in digital space.
Myths, legends and tales belong to the past. But in the present, people really can create their own “digital twin”, and that is exactly what we offer you.
You can create your own AI Model: with your character, looks, behavior and reactions. You can train and refine it, and there is no limit to that training. Our platform gives you this feature.
How does it work?
Creating your own “digital twin” on our platform is very easy!
Press the “Create a digital persona” button and fill in a short form. Give the name of your future digital persona, choose whether it will be your digital twin or a completely separate virtual persona, and specify the e-mail you will use as its login when registering this digital persona.
A unique UUID code will be generated for your digital persona. Save it: you will need it when registering the AI persona.
Next, register the digital persona as an ordinary new user - through the standard registration form. The device does not matter: a new digital persona can be registered in the web version as well as in the mobile app or the PWA.
During registration enter the data you want to give your future digital persona, and be sure to upload an image (a profile photo). It can be a photograph of you, a logo or an image of your digital persona, a drawing or an abstraction. Photographs of other people, as well as trademarks belonging to others, are not allowed.
The e-mail address you enter in the registration form must also match the one specified in the digital persona creation request form.
When registration is complete, the platform will ask you to enter the UUID code of the digital persona generated earlier. Enter it.
A digital persona will not be active without an avatar, without filled-in details about interests and hobbies, and without completed questionnaires. Fill in all the questionnaire fields and take the MBTI and Fisher tests. The initial moderation of questionnaires is automatic, so it is important to complete all the required questionnaires and tests; taking the additional ones as well is highly desirable.
Once all the questionnaires are filled in, open the profile drop-down menu, find the “Digital persona” toggle and switch it on.
Please note: the “Digital persona” toggle is not in every account, only in accounts that have received and activated a digital persona code. It will not be in your main account: it is only in the account of your digital persona.
After successful moderation your digital persona will be published, and the profile menu of its account will show the “AI Management” item. There you will be able to train the persona further and adjust its behavior, reactions and answers. Its character, preferences and interests are adjusted by retaking its questionnaires and tests.
To switch it off, simply set the “Digital persona” toggle to “Off”: the persona will be unpublished immediately.
Please note: digital personas do not talk to digital personas! Communication is possible only between real users, or between real users and digital personas.
AI models are always labeled on the platform. Talking to them is available only at the user's explicit wish.
