Attachment style test

Answer with your usual behavior in close relationships in mind – current or past ones. There are no right answers.
How the test works
The test is based on the modern two-dimensional model of attachment: it measures two scales – anxiety (fear of rejection) and avoidance (discomfort with closeness). Together, the two scales point to one of four styles: secure, anxious, avoidant or fearful-avoidant.
The questions were written specifically for AI² – they are not a translation of published questionnaires. You see the result right away: your style, both scales as percentages, and a chart.
The four attachment styles
- Secure — Closeness doesn't scare you, and leaning on a partner doesn't feel like a threat. Calm in a relationship without losing yourself.
- Anxious — A strong need for closeness and a fear of being left. Sensitivity to your partner that anxiety sometimes gets in the way of.
- Avoidant — Closeness feels like a threat to your freedom, and your main support is yourself. Calm and independence at the cost of distance.
- Fearful-avoidant — You want closeness and fear getting it at the same time. Deep feelings that are worth learning to hold.
